Grownded initially started when I wanted to find a way to blend some passions of mine into one. I’ve always been big on nature and natural remedies, having grown up spending a lot of time on my grandma’s private allotment. Later, as a student in psychology, I began working at a health and wellbeing store in the U.K. and gained a qualification for advising on herbal remedies and supplements. After university, I grew very fond of teaching people skills centered around staying mindful and present in my line of work. Throwing it all together – grownded was born. The ‘bringing together’ of natural remedies, wellbeing, and small rituals that help connect us to the present moment. It was about finding space for personal growth through grounding to the present.
Recently, everything came full circle and I received the code to my first ever allotment. It reinvented and gave Grownded a whole new, literal meaning. I remembered a time where, in Vietnam, I had just completed a tough 20km hike through Sapa and was welcomed into a homestay with an offer of a herbal bath. Healing, to say the least. The allotment has propagated an ode to my travels and a sharing of my passions with other people. I have been inspired to grow organic herbs – from rosemary, lavender, chamomile, lemon balm and more. All to create sustainably made handmade herbal sachets and bath bags that inject a little nature and grounding into everyday rituals. Whether that is when we are putting away our clothes, laying down to read a chapter before bed or winding down in a hot bath.
So, today, Grownded is now about staying grounded through small, intentional routines with the natural goodness of herbs I’ve grown myself.
